Comcast said that in the existing traditional wired home Internet environment, the ability to resist the risk of power outage is very low, in the event of a power outage caused by storms, road construction and other conditions, consumers may be cut off and unable to access the Internet.

For this reason, Comcast launched Storm-Ready WiFi for Xfinity customers. The wireless router supports Wi-Fi 6 and can act as an expansion router for the home, automatically switching to the built-in battery after a power outage and running for four hours.

Comcast currently promotes Storm-Ready WiFi as a lease, requiring users to sign a 36-month contract for a monthly fee of $7 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 51 yuan) to provide unlimited cellular network traffic.
