CTOnews.com August 16 news, application subscription service provider Setapp today announced plans to launch a third-party app store for iOS / iPadOS in 2024.

CTOnews.com reported yesterday that Bloomberg's Mark Gulman said Apple's iOS 17 update next spring will only open "sideloading" to European markets in order to meet EU requirements, allowing users to install apps outside the App Store.

Setapp was founded in 2017 by Ukraine software company MacPaw and is a subscription-based MacOS and iOS app service.

After paying a monthly subscription fee, users can use a wide variety of apps from different developers during the subscription period.

These App categories cover productivity, lifestyle, Web development tools, Mac maintenance, creative, technical writing, education, and personal finance.
