CTOnews.com, August 15 (Xinhua)-- taking a lunch break or "taking a nap" can improve employees' productivity and creativity, but it is sometimes difficult for employees to get enough rest in the office environment, according to relevant research. A Japanese company recently launched a unique "pod" that allows employees to sleep and rest in a vertical state.

Koyoyoju Plywood, a Japanese company based in Hokkaido, named its product "Giraffenap" and wants its employees to sleep vertically like long-necked mammals.

The Giraffenap is 8.4ft tall and 4ft wide, and officials say the goal is to "build a society where everyone can easily take a nap" and ultimately improve "business and health care".

Officials say the Giraffenap has built-in fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, ventilator, ceiling and floor LED lighting, and can even hang a jacket with metal fittings for sound insulation. A 20-minute lunch break is recommended.

CTOnews.com inquired about the relevant information, but the official price of the product has not been announced.
