CTOnews.com, August 15, Microsoft is developing a new home page for its advanced Windows 10 and 11 utility set, PowerToys. The home page is designed to provide users with a "more intuitive system" for launching after the first time or update, as well as a feature-rich settings home page.

Imagine the upcoming design on the new home page that will make it easier for users to determine whether a utility is on or off (and run or disable it as needed), quickly learn about keyboard shortcuts and additional features (such as using keyboard manager to remap keys or start the host file editor), and provide links to more settings for a specific "toy".

PowerToys's new home page is still under development, and users can feedback their ideas to developers.

CTOnews.com notes that PowerToys has recently ushered in a .72 update, introducing some necessary optimizations (the application now takes up significantly less space) and a new Run plug-in that allows users to generate hashes and GUID values. There are also new mouse highlights and improvements to PowerRename that enable it to handle a larger set of files without crashing. PowerToys is free to use on Windows 10 and 11, the project is open source, and anyone can participate in the development and provide improved or new tools.
