CTOnews.com August 13 news, the Turkish Space Agency announced that on August 12 local time, it launched a domestic sounding rocket SR-1 from Igneda in the northwestern province of Kerrarelli.

According to reports, the rocket, developed and produced by the Turkish military industrial enterprise Roketsan, has a payload of 100kg and a target height of 550km. It is not clear how many kilometers the launch has reached.

CTOnews.com found that Roketsan reached an altitude of 135km in 2020 with its "M" EK probe rocket.

Following the SR-1 probe rocket, Roketsan will continue to devote itself to the development of the EK launch vehicle. The "M" EK-1 carrier rocket has a payload of 400kg and aims to reach an altitude of 550km by 2027, followed by a more advanced "" M "EK-2 carrier rocket.
