CTOnews.com, August 13 (Xinhua)-- Dongfeng Nano, a new electric car brand owned by Dongfeng Motor, will be launched on August 23, and the first pure electric small car (internal code name S31) will be launched this year, according to a report by Yi Auto today.

Dongfeng Nano, which claims to be the first car brand in China to focus on small pure electricity, will fill the gap in the brand's layout in the field of small pure electricity and "inject new vitality into the small pure electricity market".

CTOnews.com previously reported that in February this year, Dongfeng Nano officially began to operate as an independent brand and will have a new platform for its own new energy architecture, which officials say has the characteristics of "high performance-to-price ratio, high range flexibility and high expansion of electronic architecture".

As for the small car, which is internally codenamed S31, its first body-in-white was launched at the Xiangyang factory on April 28. The official launch of the S31 model will help Dongfeng achieve its strategic goal of 1 million independent passenger cars and 1 million new energy vehicles in 2025, officials said.

Dongfeng Nano previously said it would launch 1-2 new models a year and achieve sales of more than 400000 vehicles by 2025. Prior to that, Dongfeng Nano achieved its annual sales target of 35000 vehicles in 2022.
