CTOnews.com, Aug. 13, Android 14 is the latest operating system to be released by Google and will bring some new features and improvements, one of which is to allow users to revoke full-screen permissions on the application. This means that users can prevent some apps from hiding the status bar and navigation bar in full-screen mode, making it easier to view time, power, and other information, while preventing applications from pushing full-screen ads to the screen.

At present, some Android applications automatically enter full-screen mode, such as games, video players, readers and so on. This provides a larger field of vision and a better sense of immersion, but it also brings some inconvenience. For example, when users want to exit full-screen mode, they need to slide inward from the edge of the screen to display the status bar and navigation bar. Sometimes, this operation may be insensitive and require multiple attempts.

Mishaal Rahman found that the new features of Android 14 will solve this problem, and users can find a menu called "manage full-screen intentions" in the settings, which lists all apps with full-screen permissions. Users can select any application and then turn off the "allow full screen" switch to revoke the full screen permissions of the application.

This feature is a good improvement for users who do not like full-screen mode, allowing users to control their mobile interface more freely and avoid misoperation or malware frauds using full-screen mode.

In addition, CTOnews.com notes that later this year, Google will by default stop granting this permission to apps that have just been installed for the first time (except for phone dialer apps and alarm clock apps). Any applications installed prior to upgrading Android 14 will need to manually revoke this permission.

The official version of Android 14, which is expected to be released this fall, will bring some other new features and optimizations in addition to full-screen rights management, such as better privacy protection, smarter notification management, more topic options, and so on.
