CTOnews.com, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) Microsoft recently quietly updated its official service agreement. The new rules came into effect on September 30, with a number of additions and changes.

CTOnews.com notes that the biggest change is the new part about using Microsoft's artificial intelligence service, which involves the use of its Bing Chat chat robot as well as Windows Copilot and Microsoft 365Copilot services. The following is the complete content of this section:

I. reverse engineering. Artificial intelligence services must not be used to discover any underlying components of models, algorithms, and systems. For example, you cannot attempt to determine and delete the weights of a model.

Second, extract data. Unless explicitly permitted, network crawling, network collection, or network data extraction methods may not be used to extract data from artificial intelligence services.

Third, restrictions on the use of AI service data. You may not use artificial intelligence services or data from artificial intelligence services to create, train, or improve (directly or indirectly) any other artificial intelligence service.

Fourth, use your content. As part of providing AI services, Microsoft will process and store your input and output to the service to monitor and prevent abusive or harmful service use or output.

Fifth, the third party claims. You are solely responsible for responding to any third party claims relating to your use of AI Services (including, but not limited to, copyright infringement or other claims related to content output during your use of AI Services) in accordance with applicable law.

In addition, the definition of "your content" in the agreement has been expanded to include "content generated by you using our artificial intelligence services". In addition, the Code of Conduct section now contains information about the use of artificial intelligence services.

Many other minor changes have been made to the service agreement, including a new Microsoft storage section that details the purpose of OneDrive and Outlook.com. Some changes have also taken place in the Microsoft reward section to reflect that it is now available worldwide.
