Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Yuxue Zhaitu, yeung233, grass Luo Yuzi, South China Daniel Wu, suitcase, soft media user 1520111, ZKSen for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, August 12 (Xinhua) the Russian National Aerospace Group recently announced that the Moon-25 lunar probe was launched aboard a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket at 2:10 local time (CTOnews.com: 7:10 Beijing time) on August 11 at the Oriental Space launch site in the local far East region of Amur.

About an hour after launch, the probe separated from the upper stage of the rocket and began to enter the orbit of the moon. It is reported that in five days it will enter a lunar orbit at an altitude of 100 kilometers.

According to the plan, the Lunar-25 probe will make a soft landing near the Boguslavsky crater at the moon's south pole on August 21. This is fundamentally different from the former Soviet-era lunar probe: the Lunar-25 probe needs to make a soft landing in the complex near-polar regions, while the latter lands in the equatorial belt.

It is also the time for the country to restart its lunar mission after 47 years, the last of which dates back to the Soviet Union in 1976, when the probe was launched, the Moon-24. The plan for Moon-25 was made as early as the 1970s.
