Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, August 10, although Apple and Epic Games in the lawsuit can be described as "a resounding victory", but was ordered by the United States court to change the "anti-guidance strategy" (Anti-steering Rules).

The court ruled that Apple had "anti-guidance strategy" anti-competitive behavior during its operation of App Store, requiring Apple to open access to developers and allow them to add buttons to guide users to use third-party payments to avoid 30 per cent of the platform.

CTOnews.com Note: judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals previously ruled that Apple could not prevent iOS developers from using third-party payment platforms in their apps and rejected Apple's appeal.

Apple appealed again to the U.S. Supreme Court in July, hoping the judge would reconsider the ruling.

Epic Games filed a motion with the Supreme Court, hoping to ask Apple to take steps to adjust App Store's commission strategy to allow developers to use third-party payment platforms before the trial.

However, the Supreme Court of the United States rejected Epic Games's request, and Justice Elena Kagan did not give any reasons for rejecting the request.

Epic Games disagreed, saying: "there is indisputable evidence that the ban will limit Apple's ability to protect users from fraud, fraud, malware, spyware and objectionable content."

Apple's appeal is currently in progress, and Apple will be given a 90-day grace period during the appeal period. If a follow-up trial is added, Apple will have a longer buffer and more flexibility to respond to court demands.
