Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com August 9, Qualcomm announced today that it has achieved downlink speeds up to 7.5Gbps in the Sub-6GHz band using Snapdragon X755G modems, setting a new record.

Qualcomm launched the new Snapdragon X755G baseband chip in February this year, which is the first baseband chip in the world to support "5G Advanced-ready", supports ten-carrier aggregation, and promises to achieve 10Gbps downlink speed in Wi-Fi 7 and 5G.

Qualcomm said the Snapdragon X75 is currently in production, and commercial terminals are expected to be released in the second half of 2023, including smartphones, mobile broadband, automobiles, computing, industrial Internet of things, fixed wireless access (FWA) and 5G enterprise private networks.

According to reports, as Qualcomm's sixth generation 5G modem and RF system, Snapdragon X75 supports 5G features such as four-carrier aggregation (CA) based on TDD band and 1024QAM, which can achieve extremely high downlink transmission speed in Sub-6GHz band under 5G independent networking (SA) network configuration.

It is reported that the connection is based on 5G independent networking (SA) network configuration for terminal testing, through a single downlink using carrier aggregation composed of four TDD carrier channel aggregation to achieve the total 300MHz spectrum bandwidth, and 1024QAM technology to achieve this rate.

According to reports, X75 can achieve full-band support from 600MHz to 41GHz, and it can also integrate millimeter wave mmWave hardware (QTM565) with Sub-6 hardware, which is equivalent to putting all 5G connections on one module.

Qualcomm says the chip takes up 25% less physical area and is 20% more energy efficient than the previous generation of X70.

In other ways, the artificial intelligence of the chip has also been greatly enhanced. The Snapdragon X75 is also the first modem system with a dedicated hardware tensor accelerator. Compared with the first-generation chips in the X70, Qualcomm promises that the second-generation chips will improve AI performance by 2.5 times.

Qualcomm said that due to the use of GNSS positioning Gen 2, the positioning accuracy has been improved by 50%. This not only reduces power consumption, but also improves the stability of the connection. This complements the choice of new second-generation intelligent networks.

It is said that the Snapdragon X75 will be released along with the next generation of flagship chips, suggesting that it will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Worldwide, the Snapdragon X75 baseband is expected to be used in flagship phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
