The report points out that mobile games are the fastest growing category in the game market this year, with revenue expected to exceed more than half of the market in 2026.

Driven by the release of new consoles and the popularity of console-only games, the console market is also expected to grow in the next few years. The release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S in 2020 has promoted the development of the game console market, and this trend will continue in the future.

Broken down by market, driven by India, China, Japan and South Korea, the Asia-Pacific region continues to lead the global gaming market and is expected to reach 46%.

North America and Europe together accounted for only 46% of global income, up 3.8% and 3.2%, respectively. Growth in the Middle East and Africa and Latin America was very strong, at 6.9% and 4.3%, respectively.

When it comes to gaming companies, Tencent is currently the market leader, with estimated revenue of $7.556 billion in 2023 (currently about 54.63 billion yuan), followed by Sony $4.38 billion (currently about 31.667 billion yuan) and Apple $3.683 billion (currently about 266.28 billion yuan).

The top 10 public companies that drove gaming revenue in 2023 included Microsoft, NetEase, Google, Activision Blizzard, EA, Nintendo and Take-Two Interactive.
