CTOnews.com August 9 news, Windows enthusiast @ PhantomOfEarth said in a recent tweet that Microsoft recently quietly updated Microsoft Store on Win10 and Win11 platforms, marking pre-installed official applications as "system components".

Users now visit Microsoft Store, and after opening the application library, they can find that most of the pre-installed applications have enabled the tag named "System Components".

Interestingly, the Windows Web Experienced Pack responsible for Windows Widget and MSN News is still marked as a regular application.

CTOnews.com previously reported that in the Win11 Build 23493 preview update released by Microsoft in July, all applications were opened in the start menu, and applications such as "Settings" and "File Manager" were now marked "System" in the list. For users who are not familiar with Win11 systems, these tags can help users distinguish between pre-installed applications.
