To meet the needs of these users, YouTube announced a "new viewing experience" on Tuesday. If users turn off their viewing history and "there was no important viewing history", they will not see any features that rely on viewing history to provide recommendations. Google said the new feature was designed to "give users a clearer idea of which YouTube features rely on viewing history to provide video recommendations and provide a more simplified experience for those who prefer to search rather than browse recommendations".

Google said the new feature would be rolled out "in the coming months", but CTOnews.com noted that some netizens had already reflected on the Internet that they had seen the change. Where the recommended video was originally displayed on the home page of YouTube, a notice now appears that says, "your viewing history is closed. You can change the settings at any time to get the latest videos that are right for you."

This change may cause some users to reopen the viewing history, after all, if the video is not recommended, users may miss out on something they are interested in or valuable.
