CTOnews.com, August 9 (Xinhua)-- Nomad, which specializes in accessories for Apple products, recently launched a new luminous sports strap for the Apple Watch. The strap costs $60 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB 431) and is compatible with Apple Watch models of 49mm, 45mm, 44mm and 42mm.

Like other Nomad sports straps, this luminous sports strap is made of FKM fluoroelastomer and is waterproof and can be worn during swimming and sweating. This material is harder than Apple's sports strap, but is comfortable on the wrist.

The strap uses a latch and buckle mechanism to close the strap to ensure safety. The internal ventilation slot increases the air permeability to prevent the watch strap from getting too wet, similar to Apple's Nike strap.

Macrumors tests found that the sports strap did glow in the dark as advertised, but the glowing effect was more subtle than that shown in Nomad's photos. The strap needs to be exposed to light before it glows, and the brightness depends on how much light it gets. During the day, the strap is an inconspicuous white, but when the light goes out, it glows green.
