CTOnews.com, August 8, according to Lei Feng, the former director of intelligent driving research and development at Horizon, Liao Jie, has joined BYD as the head of BYD's intelligent driving team in Shanghai.

Liao Jie joined Horizon as a senior R & D engineer in May 2016 and was promoted to director of smart driving research and development in December 2017, the report said.

Source: during his time at Horizon, cnevpost Liao Jie was mainly responsible for the autopilot algorithm of Journey series chips and worked with partners to optimize the algorithm.

Liao Jie joined the intelligent driving department under the BYD Research Institute of Product Planning and Automotive New Technology (referred to as the "Planning Institute"). Since Han Bing, head of BYD's smart driving business, took office this year, the BYD Planning Institute, which is in charge of smart driving research and development, has been recruiting talent vigorously.

The R & D team of BYD Planning Institute has rapidly expanded to 2000, with most engineers based in Shenzhen's Pingshan headquarters and smart car R & D centers in Shanghai and Xi'an, CTOnews.com reported.
