The Information said in a report that Apple could save billions of dollars by reaching such an agreement with TSMC for the new 3nm process.

It is reported that the initial yield of TSMC 3nm is about 70%, and the yield will be further improved with the improvement of the process.

Apple accounted for 23% of TSMC's $72 billion in revenue in 2022, making it "by far TSMC's largest customer," CTOnews.com quoted media reports. It has been reported for months that Apple has acquired all TSMC's 3nm manufacturing capacity in the short term, while The Information reported that TSMC's 3nm technology will be available exclusively to Apple for "about a year" before it will be able to allow any other company to use it.
