CTOnews.com, August 8 (Xinhua)-- Apple today upgraded its Apple Music app. The biggest highlight is the introduction of a function called "Discovery Station", similar to Spotify, which recommends favorite music content to users through algorithms.

Through this feature, Apple Music hopes to bridge the gap with Spotify in terms of recommendation algorithms.

Apple opened it directly to users on Aug. 7 without any notice or official announcement, and users browsing Apple Music apps can see the new options under the "Listen Now" tab in the "Stations for You" category.

"Discovery Station" will mainly recommend songs with similar styles based on users' previous playrecords and songs collected in their personal music library.

Apple has not officially released the update log of "Discovery Station", so the details of the algorithm are not clear. At some point in the future, Apple may promote Discovery Station,CTOnews.com to cite foreign media testing as a good way to find music that suits its own style.
