According to the communique, at this stage, based on two archived papers and public images, it is difficult to conclude that "LK-99" is a room temperature superconductor and further scientific verification is needed, so the society decided to set up an expert verification committee to conduct relevant experimental and theoretical studies, with members from the physical, material, electrical and mechanical fields of the society.

On August 3, the "LK-99" Certification Committee of the Korean Superconductor and Cryogenic Society told the South Korean media that the Society asked the Korea Quantum Energy Research Institute, which synthesized the material, to provide samples for verification, but the reply was that the previously published papers were still under review and samples could not be provided until two to four weeks later.
