CTOnews.com, August 6 (Xinhua)-- Meta recently registered a new VR header display in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database, which means that the device has been licensed to be sold in the United States. According to the UploadVR website, the new device is likely to be the Quest 3 headshow that Meta has announced.

Meta promises that the Quest 3 will have a significant upgrade from its predecessor, Quest 2, including a lighter design, a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, and support for color perspective. In addition, the Quest 3 header display will also support the Wi-Fi 6e standard, which will improve the speed and stability of the wireless network. However, these improvements have also led to higher prices: the current starting price of the Quest 2 is $299.99, while the starting price of the Quest 3 will be $499.99 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 3590 yuan).

In addition to the new head display, Meta has registered two new handheld controllers in the FCC database, which are supposed to be Touch Plus controllers for Quest 3 headers, according to UploadVR. Meta has revealed that the Touch Plus controller will be different from the one shipped with Quest 2 in that it will no longer have an external tracking loop and will use the "TruTouch" tactile technology used in Meta Quest Pro headsets.

Meta said it will share more information about the Quest 3 at the Meta Connect event on September 27 and plans to launch the device this fall.
