CTOnews.com August 5, AMD launched MI300A and MI300X AI accelerator cards at the data center and AI technology premiere held in June this year. However, in the recent exposure of the Linux patch, also found a derivative version of MI300C.

Coelacanth Dream found a third variant, MI300C, in the Linux EDAC driver. The "C" here should mean Instinct MI Accelerator CPUs, which from a technical point of view is EPYC Genoa CPU with HBM3.

MI300C has up to 96 Zen4 cores and is equipped with 128GB's HBM3 memory. Its configuration is equivalent to 12 CCD, similar to EPYC 9654, except that AMD has not released the CPU and is not sure it is located.

EPYC 9654AdoredTV sources said that AMD did not release the chip and speculated that it might be reserved for the Chinese market.

MI300A is called "the world's first APU accelerator for AI and high-performance computing" by Su Zifeng, which encapsulates multiple CPU, GPU and high-bandwidth memory and has 146 billion transistors on 13 chiplets.

MI300A uses 5nm and 6nm processes, CDNA 3 GPU architecture, with 24 Zen 4 cores and 128GB HBM3, providing more than 8x performance and 5x efficiency compared to MI250.

MI300X is a pure GPU version that uses AMD CDNA 3 technology and uses up to 192 GB of HBM3 high-bandwidth memory to accelerate large language models and generative AI computing.
