CTOnews.com learned from Monce's tweets that this update focuses on fixing various crashes, including recent Windows updates, and that Surface Duo users can return to Miracast after installing this driver update.

Miracast is a wireless display standard based on Wi-Fi direct connection developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance in 2012. consumer electronics that support this standard can share video images wirelessly.

Monce said that after the original Surface Duo installs the driver, it is theoretically possible to Miracast three screens (two screens and an external monitor on the Duo), but he does not have the test hardware on hand to test it.

A "second screen only" prompt appears in the screen window, which closes the two screens on the Surface Duo and outputs the display on the external screen.
