CTOnews.com, August 5 (Xinhua)-- Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, posted a post on his Twitter-targeting social platform "Thread" earlier today, talking about his evaluation and vision of the new platform.

It's been a great week for Threads. The community here is developing as I expected, and I want to build a long-term and dynamic App. Although there is still a lot of work to be done in the future, I am still excited about the pace of our team's operation. The search function and the (full) web version will be available in the next few weeks.

As of press time, when you open Threads on your computer, you can only view specific posts rather than the full version of the page, and the home page will prompt users to download iOS and Android versions of App.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that user engagement has fallen to a new low a month after the launch of the social app Threads, which Meta regards as a "Twitter killer".

As of July 31, the number of daily active users of Threads was 82% lower than when it was launched, and only 8 million users visited the app every day, according to Sensor Tower. In response to an interview with foreign media CNN, Sensor Tower said that the data of Threads applications are at their lowest level since its launch, with an average decrease of 1 per cent in the number of daily active users. The frequency of people opening Threads has also decreased, and the average time spent by users of the platform has dropped from the initial 21 minutes to 4 minutes, which shows that "users only rely on inertia to open App and then turn it off after browsing for a while."

Meanwhile, Zuckerberg said in an internal speech last month that Threads had lost more than half of its users in the weeks after its launch, so the focus should be on retention. "it would be great if hundreds of millions of people sign up and at least half of them can stay. It's obviously not there yet."
