CTOnews.com August 4 news, Canonical today issued a preview that the Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS maintenance version update will upgrade the kernel, Linux Kernel from 5.19 to 6.2, in addition to the existing Ubuntu 22.04 users can also be upgraded by command.

Canonical said that if all goes well, it plans to release the Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS maintenance update on August 10 and will upgrade to the same Linux 6.2 kernel as Ubuntu 23.04 (Lunar Lobster).

Canonical has released the Linux 6.2 HWE kernel to existing Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS users.

CTOnews.com Note: if you are currently using this version, you can run the sudo apt update & & sudo apt full-upgrade command on the terminal to upgrade to the 6.2 kernel.

Released as the HWE (hardware enabled) kernel, Linux 6.2 provides a smoother installation experience and better hardware support for users who want to deploy the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) operating system family on new computers.
