CTOnews.com, August 4 (Xinhua)-- Xu Qingjin, a researcher at the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently expressed his views on the heated discussion caused by room temperature superconductivity in an interview, China Daily reported today.

He said that the Korean author's article, in the view of professionals, is "very eye-catching", but the content is "very unprofessional". The reason is that the current laboratory data are not enough to support its conclusion.

The "room temperature superconductivity" mentioned in this paper must achieve the characteristics of zero resistance effect and complete diamagnetism at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, but the experimental data of the South Korean team are still far from being in these two aspects.

Xu Qingjin pointed out that if the development of room temperature superconductivity is successful, it will bring changes to many areas of daily life and cause "subversive" impetus to the electrical and magnetic fields, such as the manufacture of low-cost maglev trains.

But in the past few days, there has been a lot of crazy hype from the media. Of course, I think it is much better than the gossip news in the entertainment industry, or at least a process of popularizing science. But what I am not satisfied with is that some of the self-media are too 'headline party', completely exaggerating and seriously misleading everyone.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Yonhap news agency said that after scientific research, the Korea Superconducting Cryogenic Society (KSSC) believes that the current evidence of LK-99 is not enough to prove its superconductivity. KSSC originally needed to verify the zero resistance and complete diamagnetism by taking samples, but the research team claimed that "the paper is under review", so KSSC gave insufficient reasons based on the paper and video data:

The data in this paper are also different from the general superconductors.
