CTOnews.com, August 4 (Xinhua)-- X Twitter is seeking to work with financial data giants to build a financial trading platform, according to news website Semafor.

Musk later did not directly deny it in his tweet, saying only: "as far as I know, no relevant work has been carried out yet."

CTOnews.com Note: Semafor is a news website founded in 2022 by Ben Smith, former BuzzFeed News editor and media columnist of the New York Times, and Justin Smith, former CEO of Bloomberg Media Group.

Semafor pointed out in the report that X (Twitter) recently sent an invitation to a number of financial institutions, saying in a letter: "especially in the field of investment, to control real-time information is to control a huge force."

X (Twitter) wants these institutions to provide financial content, real-time stock data and other functions, while X (Twitter) can give them access to "hundreds of millions of high-quality users".

The request requires interested bidders to indicate how much money they will invest in the project. It is not clear which companies, if any, submitted proposals that expired last week.
