CTOnews.com August 4 news, according to the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration announced today, GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., FAW Toyota Motor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. Changchun Fengyue Branch (Entrusted and authorized by FAW Toyota Motor (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.), Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products. The following vehicles have been recalled since August 7,2023:

GAC Toyota: Recall 6963 Weilanda High Performance Edition (PHEV) vehicles produced between May 7,2021 and September 28,2022.

FAW Toyota: Recall some RAV4 double-lift E + vehicles produced between April 5,2021 and September 13,2022, totaling 6728 vehicles.

Toyota (China): Recall of 864 imported Lexus NX 400h + vehicles manufactured between November 15,2021 and May 25,2022.

For vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to insufficient consideration of the structural design of rectifier module in voltage conversion device (DC-DC converter), when there is manufacturing defect in rectifier module, it may lead to internal short circuit of rectifier module during use, and warning lamp will light up. At the same time, auxiliary battery current continues to flow to the DC-DC converter, causing it to heat up. In extreme cases, there is a risk of vehicle fire and there is a safety hazard.

Toyota's three companies in China said they would replace the improved DC-DC converter free of charge for vehicles within the scope of the recall. At the same time, vehicle owners should suspend the use of external chargers to charge vehicles before recalling them for maintenance. During this period, the owner can use the vehicle normally by adding fuel.
