Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, August 3 (Xinhua)-- Internet security company Guardz has discovered a piece of HVNC malware on the dark Internet that can launch remote attacks against macOS systems to steal personal information and password credentials.

HVNC is an acronym for Hidden Virtual Network Computing, a method used to solve remote login (such as browser, operating system / plug-in version, locale, time zone, etc.).

HVNC technology is mainly used in technical support services, but the user's permission is required before starting the service.

The HVNC malware exposed this time does not need the user's permission and can launch attacks without the user's knowledge.

The malware, which is sold on the Dark Web for $60,000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 431000 yuan), includes a reverse shell and a remote file manager. Current test results show that Mac devices with macOS 10 to 13.2 are affected, so it is recommended that users upgrade to the latest 13.4.1 version as soon as possible.

CTOnews.com attaches a report on the malware here, which can be read by interested users.
