At 1:50 on August 2, Beijing time, the marine optical survey of the last station was completed on the midship deck of the polar icebreaker "Xuelong 2."

The ocean optical observation project belongs to the category of ocean scientific research operations. Professional scientific research equipment is used to detect solar irradiance at different depths of the ocean to measure the absorption and attenuation process of solar radiation energy in the ocean. Zhong Wenli, an associate professor at Ocean University of China, said the study "helps answer a series of questions such as how solar energy enters the ocean, how it is absorbed by the ocean and where it is ultimately consumed."

China's 13th Arctic Ocean Scientific Expedition, which participated in the operation, arrived at the first operation site in the Chukchi Sea on the afternoon of July 26, Beijing time, and officially started the operation process on the same day. At present, this ocean scientific research operation is continuing, according to the schedule will officially end in mid-August.
