CTOnews.com, August 3, Intel announced that it has successfully raised $1.25 billion (CTOnews.com Note: about 8.988 billion yuan) by issuing green bonds, and invested $425 million (currently about 3.056 billion yuan) in the first year after the issue.

Intel said the invested project reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 5.3 million metric tons, saved 4.5 billion gallons of water and transferred 56000 tons of waste from landfills between 2021 and 2022.

Intel said 34 per cent of the capital gains were allocated to five project categories: pollution prevention and control, water resources management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and circular economy and waste management.

Intel is committed to using 100% renewable energy, clean water and zero landfills in its global operations by 2030; net zero greenhouse gas emissions in global operations by 2040; and zero greenhouse gas emissions upstream by 2050. Investing through adequate green bond returns will help to achieve this commitment.
