CTOnews.com, Aug. 3-Apple began inviting developers to Vision Pro's developer labs in July, which are located in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo, but so far, developers have not shown much interest in these labs. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, these developer labs "have a small number of participants, only a small number of developers."

Apple's Vision Pro developer Lab aims to give developers a first-hand experience of Vision Pro and get help from Apple engineers when they start developing applications for upcoming devices. These labs will provide testing and optimization of visionOS applications, with on-site guidance from Apple experts. Any developer can apply to join a developer lab, but Apple does not reimburse travel expenses, and developers on the east coast of the United States must cross the country to get to the lab at their own expense.

CTOnews.com notes that the visionOS simulator hasn't been launched for a long time, so many developers may still be developing applications and may not be ready to join the lab. Other developers may not have the incentive to create applications because Vision Pro will not be available for a long time in their country.

Apple also plans to send Vision Pro developer kits to some developers, and applications began two weeks ago. The number of these developer kits is limited, and Apple will give priority to those applications that make the most use of the features and features of Vision Pro. Apple has strict rules on developer suites, such as restricting them to be used in one development site and in a private, secure workspace, which may be difficult for some small developers.

Developers will have more than six months to test and develop Vision Pro applications, and Vision Pro is expected to be available in early 2024.
