CTOnews.com August 2, Apple analyst Guo Mingyi said that Apple's generative artificial intelligence technology significantly lags behind its competitors, and there is no sign that the company plans to launch its AI service next year.

Guo Mingyi explained that due to the lack of progress in this area, the company may not spend too much time discussing artificial intelligence on earnings calls.

According to reports, there is no sign that Apple plans to launch or integrate AI computing or hardware products in 2024, suggesting that AI is unlikely to contribute to boosting the company's share price or supply chain in the near future.

CTOnews.com has reported that Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said last month that Apple is working on a "Apple GPT" artificial intelligence project, which is comparable to OpenAI's ChatGPT, but is only under internal testing.

It is said that Apple has not yet developed a "clear strategy" for building AI products for consumers, and although it is likely to release a "major" artificial intelligence update in 2024, Mr Gurman has yet to see a specific plan.

During Apple's earnings call in May, Tim Cook said artificial intelligence had "a lot of problems to solve" and that it was important to "think carefully" in the development methodology. Mr Cook also said Apple thought artificial intelligence was "great" and planned to "continue to integrate it into the product in a thoughtful manner".
