CTOnews.com, August 2 (Xinhua)-- Porsche launched a limited edition 911 S / T to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 911 sports car. The car combines the 4.0L engine of the 911 GT3 RS with the body of the 911 GT3 Touring and with a manual transmission, it is the lightest 911 in the 992 series.

The Porsche 911s / T carries a 4-liter horizontal six-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 518 horsepower, the same as the GT3 RS. The engine matches a newly developed clutch and reduces rotational mass by about 23 pounds. The gear ratio of the gearbox is also shorter than the standard GT3, which improves the response speed. Porsche says the 911 S / T can accelerate from rest to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 186mph (299.34 km / h).

The 911 S / T comes from the GT3 Touring and has no rear spoiler, but has a retractable rear spoiler with a "Gurney Flap". Several parts of the body are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), including the hood, roof, front wings and doors, as well as anti-tilting bars and shearing plates for the rear axle. The wheels are made of magnesium alloy, the brake system uses Porsche ceramic composite brake (PCCB), the battery uses lithium ion start-up battery, and the glass uses lightweight glass. These measures make the weight of the 911 S / T only 3056 pounds (about 1387 kilograms), 70 pounds lighter than the manual GT3 Touring.

The appearance of the 911 S / T has several unique features, such as the optional traditional design kit, coastal blue metal paint and ceramic wheels, the Porsche logo and the 911 S / T model logo are all in gold.

Porsche plans to produce 1963 911 S / T cars to commemorate the debut of the 911 sports car in 1963. The car, which starts at $291650 (currently about 2.094 million yuan), will be delivered to the U. S. market in the spring of 2024.
