According to CTOnews.com news on August 1, Guangzhou Auto Toyota sold 71343 units in July, accounting for more than 40 percent of flagship models from January to July. Among them, Camry sold 17613 units, with a cumulative sales volume of more than 120000 units from January to July; Hanlanda sold 7378 units, up 8 percent from the previous month; and Sena sold 7049 units, up 21 percent from the previous month.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Toyota has launched a series of measures to accelerate the development of intelligence and electrification in China in order to enhance competitiveness in the Chinese market.

Toyota Motor Research and Development Center (China) Co., Ltd., Toyota's largest R & D base in China, will change its name to Toyota Intelligent Electric vehicle Research and Development Center (China) Co., Ltd. (IEM by TOYOTA) from August 1.

Engineers from three existing joint venture R & D companies in China (FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and BYD Toyota Electric vehicle Technology Co., Ltd.) were sent to the IEM-led development project.

In the aspect of electrification, we should take multiple ways as the core to achieve carbon neutralization and strengthen the development of localized electric vehicles (including BEV, PHEV, HEV, FCEV).

In terms of intelligence, speed up the local design and development of the intelligent cockpit, and bring users a better driving experience through space design and AI application, as well as autopilot and advanced safety functions that are more suitable for China.

Whether it is electrification or smart technology, Toyota will strive to significantly reduce manufacturing costs in order to enhance competitiveness through three measures: "nurturing local suppliers", "reviewing parts design" and "reforming manufacturing technology".
