CTOnews.com, August 1 (Xinhua)-- tonight, Pixar, Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, NVIDIA and the Linux Foundation affiliate Development Foundation (JDF) announced the formation of the OpenUSD Alliance (AOUSD) to promote the standardization, development, evolution and growth of Pixar's generic scene description technology.

According to reports, the alliance aims to promote the standardization of the 3D ecosystem by promoting the development of Open Universal Scene Description, and further enhance the interaction and operability of 3D tools and data. The alliance will enable developers and content creators to describe, combine and simulate large-scale 3D projects, and establish an expanding range of 3D-enabled products and services.
