CTOnews.com August 1 news, foreign technology media insideevs recently released an article comparing the sales of Tesla, BYD and Volkswagen in the field of pure electric electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2023.

It is reported that the sales of the three car companies have increased to varying degrees compared with the same period last year, and there has also been a big increase in sales compared with the first quarter of this year.

CTOnews.com attached here the sales of electric vehicles of the three car companies in the second quarter of 2023 as follows:

Tesla: 466140 vehicles, an increase of 83% over the same period last year.

BYD: 352163, up 95% from the same period last year, equivalent to 76% of Tesla's performance. The gap with Tesla is 113977, an increase of 53% compared with the same period last year.

Volkswagen Group: 180239 vehicles, up 53% from the same period last year, accounting for 39% of Tesla's performance. The gap with Tesla is 285901, an increase of 109% compared with the same period last year.

CTOnews.com attached the sales figures of electric vehicles of the three car companies in the first half of 2023 as follows:

Tesla: 889015, an increase of 57% over the same period last year.

BYD: 616810, up 91% from the same period last year, accounting for 69% of Tesla's performance. The gap with Tesla was 272205, an increase of 13% compared with the same period last year.

Volkswagen Group: 321091 vehicles, up 48% from the same period last year, accounting for 36% of Tesla's performance. The gap with Tesla is 567924, an increase of 63% compared with the same period last year.

For reference, Tesla delivered more than 1.3 million electric vehicles in 2022 (up 40 per cent year-on-year), BYD sold more than 900000 (up 184 per cent) and Volkswagen Group delivered more than 570000 (up 26 per cent).
