Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com August 1 news, the British Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has been opposed to Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard, but after the United States Trade Commission (FTC) failed to appeal Microsoft, the British CMA softened its attitude towards Activision Blizzard acquisition.

CTOnews.com has previously reported that the UK CMA last week extended the review deadline by six weeks, originally scheduled for July 18, to August 29 after another failure of the US FTC appeal.

According to The Verge, Microsoft has submitted a new document to the UK's CMA to urge CMA to review the deal as soon as possible and approve it accordingly.

According to documents released by ▲ Microsoft, it is reported that Microsoft recently signed an agreement with cloud game company NWare in exchange for the company's support in court. Microsoft also reached similar agreements with Nvidia, Boosteroid and other companies when it was investigated by EU regulators.

A few days ago, Microsoft also signed a new contract for "call of Duty" with Sony, so foreign media speculated that Sony should maintain a neutral attitude in the future exchanges between Microsoft and CMA in the UK and FTC in the United States.

Microsoft itself, according to the above-mentioned agreement, asked the British CMA to "re-evaluate the 'Activision Blizzard acquisition'".

In addition, Microsoft is also working on a final proposal for acquisition documents to address CMA's concerns in the UK more directly, which may involve the sale of some of Microsoft's cloud game rights in the UK.

From Microsoft's recent actions, we can see that it "fought" in order to acquire Activision Blizzard, but it will take time to judge whether the British CMA cares about these actions of Microsoft.
