CTOnews.com, August 1 (Xinhua)-- Sony today announced the price of its high-end QD-OLED TV Bravia XR A95L, which is twice as bright as last year's model and comes in 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch sizes, starting at $2800 (CTOnews.com Note: about 20020 yuan).

QD-OLED is a new display technology, which combines the advantages of OLED screen (dark black, high contrast) and the advantages of QLED TV (high brightness, rich color). Sony says the new TV is twice as bright as its predecessor and its color is 200% brighter than traditional OLED displays.

The core of the TV is Cognitive Processor XR, which is the equivalent of a brain, responsible for managing color, contrast, clarity, adaptive noise reduction and automatic HDR tone mapping. In addition, the TV is equipped with a Bravia Cam sensor that can be used as a webcam for video calls, while optimizing the picture and sound of the TV based on the user's position in the room. Users can also use the multi-view feature to split the screen display to view content from two different sources at the same time.

The Bravia XR A95L also has some new features, one of which is the game menu, which can manage game screens and auxiliary settings. There are also some features designed specifically for PS5: automatic HDR tone mapping (Auto HDR Tone Mapping, based on HGiG) and automatic picture quality mapping mode (Auto Genre Picture Mode) to optimize high-end display for your favorite PlayStation games. The TV also has a new eco-dashboard that manages all energy-saving settings in one location.

Sony's new TV also has sound field audio plus (Acoustic Surface Audio+) technology: the driver behind the TV vibrates the entire screen, helping to make the conversation clearer. This feature can be used with Sony's Soundbar because some of the Soundbar can be synchronized with the built-in vibration of the TV, resulting in a "fuller" sound on the central audio channel. The company also synchronizes its Soundbar with the TV's Quick setup menu, which can display volume, sound field and other options directly on the TV.

The Sony Bravia XR A95L 55-inch model sells for $2800 (currently about 20020 yuan), the 65-inch model sells for $3500 (currently about 25025 yuan), and the 77-inch model sells for $4500 (currently about 32175 yuan). All three models will be ordered from Sony's authorized dealers from August 21.
