CTOnews.com, July 31 (Xinhua)-- A tech content creator recently found a modified Tesla Model 3 in Palo Alto, California, and took a picture. The project, codenamed "Project Highland", is an upgrade carried out by Tesla for the Model 3 car, mainly involving changes to the front and rear bumpers.

CTOnews.com noticed that the front and rear bumpers of the Model 3 were covered, suggesting that Tesla had made changes to the two parts, while the rest of the body remained the same. The most striking is the front bumper, which looks longer than the model on sale and has a camera at the tip of the front, similar to the Cybertruck. This shows that the modified Model 3 has fully adapted to Tesla's vision system and no longer needs ultrasonic sensors, which means that the new car is likely to be equipped with Tesla's hardware 4.0.

Tesla is expected to start production of the revamped Model 3 soon, and during the company's earnings call in the second quarter of 2023, Tesla executives said that production was likely to decline in the third quarter due to factory upgrades.
