CTOnews.com, July 31, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said that following in the footsteps of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will use a redesigned fuselage to make the equipment "easier to repair."

This means that the iPhone 15 Pro series models will be equipped with removable rear glass, and the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will be the first iPhone models to open from the front and back of the device since the iPhone 4S in 2011. However, the iPhone 14 Pro series models are not the same as the standard models, and still can only be opened from one side of the display.

For users who do not buy AppleCare+, the removable rear glass may greatly reduce the maintenance cost of the iPhone 15 Pro series models with broken rear glass. Apple charges from $169to $199for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus with broken back glass, and $499to $549 for iPhone 14 Pro series.

CTOnews.com noted that iFixit's Kyle Wiens said last year that iPhone 14 represented "the most substantial iPhone design change" since iPhone X. These changes "are significant, and iPhone has been redesigned from the inside out to make it easier to repair."

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 15 series in September, and Gurman reiterated that all devices will be equipped with USB-C ports and smart islands, while he expects the Pro models to have a titanium frame, narrower screen frames, faster chips made using TSMC's 3nm process, customizable Action buttons, and so on. He believes that the price of new phones may rise in some countries, at least for Pro models.
