CTOnews.com, July 31 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- due to the slower-than-expected adoption of the VR platform, Meta's meta-cosmic business, Horizon World (Horizon Worlds), has not performed well since its launch. Vishal Shah, vice president of Metaverse, said in a recent interview with Lowpass's technical newsletter that in order to make Horizon World more visible, Meta has set up an internal studio called Ouro Interactive, which focuses on making first-party virtual games.

Shah said the game will also be one of the first VR games that Meta plans to test when it finally launches the mobile version of Horizon World.

Shah said that as Meta builds a new Horizon World, more games are expected to make their debut. He explained that Meta has also improved the infrastructure of the VR platform to support higher-quality and more complex games and to provide more tools for third-party developers.

Shah also said that the "Horizon World" mobile version of Meta will serve as a bridge between smartphones and Quest VR headsets: "We are moving from a world that only uses VR to a world that uses VR first."

CTOnews.com previously reported that Horizon World was not a successful project for Meta. In October last year, foreign media reported that the platform had less than 200000 users. By contrast, Threads, Meta's recently launched social platform, has more than 100 million users in a matter of days.
