Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Many people may not have seen fireflies in more than a decade.
This kind of small insect which infects the water source of forest and grass in summer has its own fluorescence and often appears in groups, which can create a very dreamy scene.
The firefly under the camera is also very good-looking, with portraits and scenery are a good choice, so it is also loved by many photography lovers.
July and August are the period when fireflies are more active. Today, I will bring you a shooting strategy:
1. Shooting fireflies is similar to shooting the starry sky. The so-called "bright moon and sparse stars". When the moon is full, the fireflies are often not obvious, but when the moon is absent and there is no interference from other light sources, the fireflies will be more obvious and more beautiful.
In addition to paying attention to the moonlight, we should also pay attention to the shooting time of the day. Fireflies are usually the most active at 7-8 p.m., and the number decreases significantly after 9 p.m., so if you want to take a perfect picture, you need to prepare in advance and leave before dark. on the one hand, observe the scene in advance to find seats, on the other hand, miss the wonderful time.
two。 There are many places infested by fireflies in China, but there are not many places to watch the well-protected fireflies. Here, I would like to share with you a few places that are more suitable for shooting:
(1) Nanjing Zijinshan
One of the most suitable places to observe fireflies in China is not only a large number of fireflies, but also luxuriant vegetation and other good scenery.
(2) Xiamen Firefly Park
The park, which artificially breeds tens of thousands of fireflies, is open to children under the age of 16 (with a guardian) from June to September each year, requires an appointment and is limited to 300 visitors a day.
(3) Yishui firefly water cave
The water cave has a constant temperature of 18 degrees all the year round, and there are a large number of fireflies living inside, which is spectacular with stalactites and other landscapes.
(4) Tiantai Mountain, Sichuan
The largest firefly viewing base in Asia, where there are many kinds of fireflies and can be observed for a long time, from April to September. Traces of fireflies can be found in the mountains at an altitude of 800-1400 meters.
(5) Alishan, Chiayi, Taiwan
April to May every year is the best viewing season, there are many species and large number of fireflies, which attracts a large number of people to watch every year.
(6) Cenbu Village, Shanghai
The unique firefly here has a large head, fast speed and more obvious brightness, which is very suitable for observation.
3. Shooting skills (1) camera operation
Because the brightness of fireflies is not particularly obvious, shooting fireflies often requires the use of large aperture and high sensitivity.
In order to record a wider picture, we can use wide-angle large-aperture lenses, such as 24mm f1.4, 35mm f1.4, etc., which are more suitable for recording the trajectory of fireflies.
Lenses such as 50mm and 85mm are more suitable for shooting large light spots produced by fireflies.
In terms of specific operation, it is necessary to carry a tripod. The sensitivity is generally between 400 and 800, which can be flexibly adjusted according to the on-site environment and the performance of fireflies.
The shutter speed hardly affects the brightness of the firefly, but affects the overall brightness of the scene, and can also be flexibly adjusted.
You can use as large an aperture value as possible.
Also pay attention to the focus problem, because the environment is dark and the range of depth of field is small because of the large aperture, we can choose to use manual focus, and we can use small light sources (mobile phones, etc.) to focus. Fireflies are afraid of light, so do not affect the shooting of fireflies and others. The best way is to arrive at the scene before dark to find a seat in advance, plan to shoot and focus manually in advance.
(2) composition
Shooting fireflies, composition and scene is very important, with a good scene with fireflies to match the photos will look better.
So once again emphasize the importance of arriving at the scene in advance, and we can flexibly use various elements of the scene when shooting, or bring some interesting items to match, or through the foreground, background and other elements to make the picture more attractive.
(3) shooting angle
Fireflies fly at an altitude of about 40-150 cm. Different heights and different angles can give different feelings. Generally speaking, it is good to shoot scenes such as grass at a relatively low angle.
4. Pay attention to fireflies, we should watch, shoot at the same time in the spirit of love, to reduce the interference of human activities to the normal activities of fireflies.
Fireflies are originally a relatively timid creature, afraid of light and easily disturbed by human activities, so we keep our distance as far as possible, do not use bright light, do not make noise, and do not intrude in its habitat. Capture and other behaviors should be put an end to.
