He began his career as an assistant engineer in the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics in 1990, then became Deputy General Manager of China Electronic Technology Group Corporation in 2004, and was promoted to Director and General Manager of China Electronic Information Industry Group Co., Ltd five years later. Eight years later, in 2017, Liu Liehong became the director and general manager of China Electronic Technology Group Co., Ltd.
