Although the unfavorable factors of 2022, such as low user fees for games and poor performance of new products, have improved, they still need some time to rebound. In the second quarter, with the launch of more popular new products, game companies are expected to report results in the future. Although the performance is poor, in the major sub-industries of the media sector, game companies ranked 2nd and 1st in terms of revenue and return to mother net profit, which means that the game continues to have an advantage in competition with similar industries.

Gamma data said that among the new products that have been launched this year, as of June 30, there are 18 products involving listed game companies that exceed 50 million yuan, an increase of 4 over the same period last year; among the products expected to be launched, a number of products with high reservations, well-known IP and other characteristics have entered the late stage of research and development and launched billing tests, both of which work together to improve the pipelining performance of new products in 2023.

In terms of games going out to sea, the total number of Chinese products on the list on June 30, 2023 accounted for 21.4%, an increase of 0.96% over the same period last year. At this stage, the proportion of less than 10 Chinese products in the daily best-selling list of overseas markets is only 3.1%. In most markets, Chinese games have become an important choice for local users.
