CTOnews.com July 29 news, according to foreign media gamesindustry reported that the German Game Industry Association (Game) released a report, the number of German game companies increased by 15.5% year-on-year, reaching 908. The number of employees of developers and publishers has increased by 7% compared with 2022.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the German gaming industry and the expanded gaming labor market have created more than 30,000 jobs in the past year. The expanded market includes service providers, media, retailers, education and public sector employees.

It is understood that in 2020, the German government announced a major funding plan for the national game industry, allowing companies to recover up to 50% of their development costs. The fund applies to "small and large budget games" and the available funds have increased to 70 million euros by November 2022.

Felix Falk, executive director of the German game industry trade body, said: "the launch of large game funds means that Germany can eventually become an internationally competitive game base."

To qualify, the company's headquarters or registered place of business must be located in Germany, the development cost of self-research must be between 30,000 and 400000 euros (up to 50% funding), and the development cost of co-production must be at least 100000 euros (up to 50% funding).
