CTOnews.com, July 29-A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey on February 6 this year, with its epicenter near the southern city of Gaziantep, followed by a magnitude 7.7 earthquake nine hours later.

According to a survey conducted by BBC, Google's Android earthquake warning system did not work properly during the earthquake, and many Android users received no feedback.

CTOnews.com Note: Google officials say the Android earthquake warning system can notify users one minute before an earthquake.

BBC visited three cities in Turkey's quake zone and asked hundreds of users, none of whom responded to the notification.

Mika Berman, Google's product director in charge of the system, later responded: "We are very confident that we can remind users to take refuge before the earthquake," but did not provide sufficient evidence.
