Responding positively to the national strategic call of "counting east and counting west", on July 28, Kuaishou Intelligent Cloud Wulanchabu data Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and Kuaishou co-founder Yinxin announced that the project was officially put into operation. The project is Kuaishou's first self-built super-large-scale Internet data center, independently developed by Kuaishou technical team and independently completed the overall conceptual design, and will become the largest data center built for artificial intelligence and big data in China.

Yu Bing, senior vice president of Kuaishou and head of the R & D line, said in his speech that Kuaishou Intelligent Cloud Wulanchabu data Center will support core technology platforms such as Kuaishou artificial Intelligence and big data to help Kuaishou users get a better experience. for the company's long-term and rapid development to provide adequate resources. In the future, Kuaishou will also continue to deepen cooperation with Ulan Chab, continue to promote project construction, and strive for new achievements and breakthroughs.

Qi Feiyun, deputy secretary of the Wulanchabu municipal party committee and mayor, who attended the ceremony, said: over the past three years, we have overcome many difficulties, actively promoted the construction of the project, and finally completed and put into operation on schedule. It is hoped that on the basis of good cooperation in the previous period, the two sides will carry out more cooperation in the fields of big data, cloud computing, smart city, and rural revitalization. Ulan Chab will also provide better policies and services for the development of enterprises. We will, as always, support the rapid development and sustained growth of Kuaishou.

The spring tide of digital economy is an important strategic opportunity, and the data center is the basis for the development of digital economy. In 2020, Kuaishou responded positively to the central government's strategic call for "new infrastructure", relieved Beijing's non-capital functions, and planned to move computing and data resources out of Beijing in an orderly manner. Against this background, Kuaishou Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the people's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous region and the people's Government of Wulanchabu City to invest 10 billion yuan in the construction of a data center in Cr High-tech Development Zone of Wulanchabu City. In 2021, as a major high-quality development project in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, construction was officially launched.

As an intensive, economical, intelligent, green and low-carbon model project, the data center covers a total area of 461mu and has built 12 computer room buildings, 2 110kV substations and 2 comprehensive buildings and other auxiliary rooms. When completed, the project will carry 300000 high-performance servers and will become the largest data center built specifically for artificial intelligence and big data. Today, six computer room buildings have been built in the first phase of the project, with an investment of 1.52 billion yuan in fixed assets.

Continuous Innovation in Energy-saving R & D Laboratory to ensure the realization of carbon Neutralization goal

While building a super-large-scale computing platform, Kuaishou also actively responded to the national goal of "carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutralization in 2060", deeply implemented the concept of green development, and built an energy-saving-oriented Wulanchabu data center. In the construction of the project, a number of innovative technologies are adopted to maximize the use of natural cold sources and low energy consumption equipment, reduce energy consumption and air conditioning water consumption, and reduce total carbon emissions. The goal of energy saving and emission reduction has been achieved.

It is understood that the project specially established an energy-saving R & D laboratory, in order to ensure the realization of the goal of carbon neutralization, maximize the use of natural cold sources, solar energy, waste heat recovery, low-power equipment; use a variety of water-saving and anhydrous air-conditioning technologies, efficient and energy-efficient DC power supply architecture, waste heat recovery heating technology; effectively ensure that the design PUE (energy efficiency) is lower than 1.2 (water efficiency) is lower than 1. It is estimated that the annual power saving will reach about 500 million degrees, and the total energy consumption will be reduced by more than 30 percent, which is equivalent to planting 1.8 million trees, which has really realized the green and low-carbon development of the data center. In the future, Kuaishou technical team will also choose the opportunity to open source innovative technologies to maximize social value.

The official completion of Kuaishou Intelligent Cloud Wulanchabu data Center can meet the needs of rapid business growth, support Kuaishou to connect hundreds of millions of users with various industries with "short video + live streaming", and create a new type of digital community with high stickiness and strong interaction by creating highly viscous and interactive digital life scenes. At the same time, it also effectively supports the layout of the "new infrastructure" in Inner Mongolia and promotes the development of the "grassland Cloud Valley" Ulan Chab big data industry and digital economy. In the future, Kuaishou also plans to further migrate the computing power and data resources of the Beijing data center to a number of national computing hub nodes, so as to actively help the implementation of the strategic plan of "counting the east and counting the west".
