Ford said the rear axle housing could damage the wire harness, causing the electric parking brake to start unexpectedly.

CTOnews.com learned from Reuters that Ford said it had received 918 warranty claims and three on-site reports of wire wear in North America, and that there were 299 incidents of accidental start-up of electric parking brakes, 19 of which occurred while driving. Ford said it was not clear about the crashes or injuries related to the recall. The distributor will install protective straps, wire harness tape packages and replace seat belts as needed.

It is worth mentioning that Ford recently released its second-quarter results, when total revenue was $45 billion.

Model E (Electric vehicle) had revenue of $1.8 billion (currently about 12.888 billion yuan), up 39% from a year earlier.
