Cai Lixing said that revenue and gross profit margin in the second quarter were above the company's target, while the performance of the three major product lines, including mobile phones, smart devices and power management chips, grew synchronously.

Cai Lixing said that in the first half of the year, the semiconductor industry was affected by weak global demand and the inventory digestion cycle was extended. Recently, MediaTek has observed that the inventory level of major customers has gradually dropped to a relatively normal level, and customer demand has also shown a certain degree of stability.

Cai Lixing stressed that as the global consumer electronics terminal market demand is still weak, customers are still careful inventory management, but business is expected to gradually improve in the second half of the year.

As for the third-quarter results, Cai Lixing pointed out that the revenue performance of smartphones, connected chips and power management chips is expected to improve, which will slow the impact of the decline in smart TVs and other consumer products. In the market cycle, MediaTek will continue to strike a balance between market share, revenue and profitability.

With regard to the cooperation with Nvidia, Cai Lixing said that by combining Nvidia's strength in the software and AI cloud, MediaTek will further strengthen its competitiveness in the automotive software field in the future. Due to the long lead-in cycle of the automobile industry, it is expected that there will be a more significant revenue contribution from the beginning of 2026.
