The new rules make it clear that the platform encourages "friendly expression, objective and rational expression of one's own views, and transmission of goodwill", and shall not "use insulting, discriminatory and malicious words to attack or belittle others," as follows:

Secondly, users shall not publish network violence information on the platform, nor shall they instigate or instigate other users to publish such content or carry out related acts:

1. Insulting, discriminatory and malicious words shall not be used to attack or derogate the appearance, gender, race, identity, social status and other personal characteristics of others.

2. They shall not spread rumors to slander others, deliberately fabricate and spread false facts about others, and damage their reputation and reputation.

In addition, in addition to dealing with network violence information and behavior, the platform will also provide the following technical capabilities to protect the rights and interests of users:

1. For victims, provide privacy settings such as one-click anti-cyber violence, interactive rights management and other capabilities to help them block the cyber storm path.

2. Provide one-click forensics ability for victims to help them retain evidence of cyber violence.

3. Provide feedback channels for all users to facilitate feedback on network violence information and behavior.

4. for suspected perpetrators, carry out warning, awe and educational guidance through video, voice and other channels to maintain the atmosphere in the station.

If the content posted by the user violates the above prohibited norms, the platform will restrict the dissemination of improper speech content and punish the account according to the user's violation and impact, etc., including, but not limited to, canceling the right to submit, close the right to interact, cancel the right to make profits, erase the fans of the account, ban the account, etc., the platform will also cooperate with the judiciary to deal with serious circumstances.

Douyin also released data that since July 2023, Douyin has intercepted about 7 million messages, reviewed and cleaned up 78000 messages, disposed of 4843 accounts, and directed one-click anti-riot reminders to 9271 accounts. The above content management specification has been put into trial operation and will come into effect on July 27, 2023.
